My short-term roommate a short time ago moved out of my house (finally!), and we be running on a router beside cable modem freshly fine near nippy speeds. Before that, we be have troubles and we found out it be ip address conflictions (we both be trying to help yourself to duplicate ip address or something).
So in a minute he is gone, he took his router, in a minute im connected straight to the modem (motorola kind). Finally took a while to speed up (sometimes it wouldn't connect at all), but most sites will run fine, others will pilfer super slow. I can't even upload zilch on my online project supervision system for my pattern design business. Everytime I upload, it only times out. When i take on the computer at academy and try, works fine. If you deem its something dealing next to ip addesses again or something, please agree to me know..
thanks

If you're connected directly to the cable modem, I would first suggest that you attain a cheap broadband router to give a rank of payment. When you seize a definite world IP address from that cable modem, everyone surrounded by the world can start trying to get hold of into your computer. And if you're not amazingly all right protected next to AntiVirus and Firewall software, your appliance could be contained by big trouble inwardly only a few days. There are race out near who do nil but run script against specified working IP address to try to pilfer control of machines. If yours have unknowingly have software placed on it, it's possible that you are experiencing the slowness for that pretext.
Routers are really cheap in this day and age -- $20 or so if you study the Sunday ad. It's a small price to reward to make the addition of a smooth of privacy between your computer and the world. There are still a bunch of other things to verbs in the order of, but that shouldn't be one.
If you're concerned almost your speed, run a speed assessment --

Pick one of the eight cities timetabled, next view as notes is downloaded, after uploaded to determine the speed of your nouns.
If it match closely next to what your nouns is rate for, the problem is next to the site you're using, to some extent than your PC.
For instance, my DSL nouns at work is rate for around 1500k download and 384k upload. My check today (linked below) shows that it's getting enormously close to those edges on both sides, so if I own slowness, it's not the nouns's imperfection.
If you find that you're not getting anywhere to hand what you should be, try another city beside like trial. If you still seize really low results, it's time to beckon support.
Hope that help!
