I connected my up to date laptop to my router, and am inept to return with online beside it. To trade name sure that the cable be flawless, I used it on one of the other computers, and be directly competent to bring back online. No problem! I reconnected it to the topical notebook, and again, zilch! Any clues anyone?

Check the lattice settings on your unknown computer to ensure it is set up to own an IP address automatically assigned. Open your control panel, undo the see option, stretch out the properties of your wired make friends, scroll through the services and select TCP/IP and click on the Properties button, and next ensure adjectives of the settings are automatic.

Open a command prompt and type 'ping [ip address of router]'. If the router address is 192.168.0.1, type in 'ping 192.168.0.1'. As long as you draw from a reply, your exotic computer and the router are chitchat to respectively other. You should presently know how to connect.
You may also want to disable the Windows firewall to see if it is prohibiting communications.
