Wireless Internet from PC to laptop available but...?

I've get a LinkSys router plugged on my PC which provides DSL internet nouns. This specific model can connect also wireless. So, I tried connecting my laptop near the wireless of the router and it works only just fine. But even though I grasp the "wireless nouns - signal good" balloon I can't appear to be getting any info from the browser or any IM.. any thinking?
