WI-FI access from Laptop to home PC?

Hi - i enjoy purely bought a laptop that have WIFI built surrounded by, you turn it on and it find internet connections etc - why will it not find my home PC connection, my wife is on the internet upstairs but i can't gain access downstairs - i own win XP upstairs. Do i entail to set up or turn something on/off - Please Help! driving me nuts


Answers: im assuming you get a wireless router on your primary laptop up stairs if so. at hand should be a button on your laptop to press to connect wirelesly to your desktop workstation. i dont know what laptop you get . i get a advent and the button for i.e. at the fund of adjectives the key surrounded by the middle at the bottom of the screeni enjoy three buttons nearby and the first 1 is the wireless switch. but that said you must own a wireless router on your desktop. hope this help i know how frustating it can obtain through experience.
