Answers:
I also bought a wireless D-Link 514 router two weeks ago and I didn't enjoy any problems in relation to wep page. But i did hold a problem near the Yahoo Messenger. And I fixed it by following the instructions from this site:

Good luck.
The router firewall will not block any sites.
I not sure it is your firewall stopping you viewing network page you may enjoy some virus software that is to say stopping you access these page.
Sometimes you obtain pop up blocks which restrict viewing of pattern page if you can find that out your partly path at hand.
Whoever give you the suggestion isn't giving you the total solution. A router by failure to pay does not block network page unless the configuration program that comes beside it be set by someone to block it. This is unlikely. The best entity I can infer of is your network browser (I'll assume Windows Internet Explorer) have some sites blocked or you may hold an antivirus software that blocks injurious sites. These can be the reason but unless you distribute me more info it's firm to diagnose.
I suggest you contact Geek Squad at Best Buy and provide them the information I've timetabled down.
1. what is your Windows version
2. what is your internet explorer version or anything browser app you are using (Mozilla etc).
3. what is your router brand and model number
4. when did you purchase it
5. what is your internet services provider
6. if you own an antivirus/antisypyware application
You own be misadvised. The router firewall will not block access to net page unless someone have asked it to.
If you want to be restless next to technical router settings, try varying the MTU from 1500 to 1450 or 1400 and see if that make any difference.
