Answers: Let me guess, your DSL modem is a Speedstream?

The speedstream modems used by AT&T (previously SBC) Yahoo aren't standard- they are hybrid router/modems and come configured so that standard routers (Linksys, Netgear etc) stop working after a short while.

To fix this, you've get to configure the modem to use a private IP address instead of public, set your router's WAN address to 192.168.1.64, and use a completely different subnet for your local net (i.e. 10.10.10.x instead of 192.168.1.x)

Here's the step-by-step explanation below:
try shutting everything down, hitting reset buttons, and reconnecting. if that doesn't do it consequently I don`t know u want to be contacting the linksys company. they enjoy tech's to abet beside this sort of item.
You requirement to move some settings in the router probably. Type in your IP address in your address railing on IE. Its a linksys so your login first name is "blank" and password is "admin". Take a look in within and see if you can see anything that is to say observable except consequently contact yahoo att and see if they can trouble shoot your problem.
1. Shut down your ccomputer.
2. Power-cycle your modem [take the power cord out of the cable modem and continue for more or less 20-30 seconds] after plug the power rear into your cable modem.
3. Turn your computer spinal column on.
4. If this doesn't work, contact your internet cable provider.
From the internet you step through several hops (or hoops) to acquire to your computer. Internet to ISP (cable company) to Modem consequently to Router (linksys) and after computer. My first dint is that one of your ethernet cable are impossible, or the WAN port on your router is discouraging.

Internet to ISP is honourable or you hold to procure a hot ISP. ISP to modem sounds well brought-up since I assume your modem lights nouns comes on. So in a minute you enjoy modem to router to computer or modem to computer.

Since you can can connect modem to computer looks similar to your computer is set up property. At least possible to the ISP. First, I would check Computer. Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections -> Local Area Connection -> TCPIP -> [Properties] later Check to see of you enjoy Automatically Obtain IP Address Checked. This will see if you hold a static IP Address from the cable company.

If you own a static IP address from your ISP you will own to setup your Router next to the static IP Address. Turn on DHCP from surrounded by your router and Automatically Obtain IP Address on your computer.

Now to check the cable you will hold to do a process of elimation. Since your you cant really see what's going on near your router, you hold to check the router next to your computer. Connect the Router to your computer next to one of the cable. Now see if you enjoy access to your router from your computer surrounded by IE goto something like 192.168.1.1 and see if you achieve a login blind. Then unplug router and switch cable. Turn on router and access configuration blind again 192.168.1.1.

If both cable do not work, I don`t know the WAN port on router is bleak. If 1 works and 1 do not try using a different ethernet cable. If both work it could be the static IP to your ISP.

The deep configuration is: Router set up to Obtain IP Address. and DHCP server ON. Computer Automatically Obtain IP Address and no other configurations.

Hope this help some...
