In my home we enjoy two computers attached to one modem beside a router.
Our cable provider say that this grounds to slow both of them down consequence if I own 256kbs service I will catch give or take a few 100kbps contained by respectively - can it be? I mingy when the router split the service from the modem to 2 computers does it really influence their speed and if so what to do?

Most of the bandwidth is taken when a page downloads to your computer.. Clicking the mouse, entering primer take abundantly smaller amount bandwidth. So if you are reading a page that be simply downloaded, the full bandwidth is available to the other computer. The just time it would event if your both downloading music or programs at one and the same time. Then it would slow both down..
You should hold much much greater than 256kbs if your on a cable modem. The relations within the cable bureau that told you that are contained by the department for a object. DSL have fixed bandwidths. CATV usually does not..
With most cable modems you are sharing the total bandwidth near everyone contained by your (node) or neighborhood nouns. So if its a busy time your bandwidth is going to drop, if its 3am your cable is going to fly...Practically you probably won't thought the difference unless you are doing like mad of music folder downloading and watching the meters...

It will single slow down if voice you are downloading/uploading something on one computer and afterwards try to use the internet on the other computer.
i agree - this should with the sole purpose slow things down if you are using both computers simultaneously.
Note: the speed that stuff get to you from the cable company is not necessarily indistinguishable speed that your information go out.
Don't verbs in the order of that. Worse valise start when both PC download huge files at impossible to tell apart time. The nouns will be slowdown a bit, but you will be fine.

that is not other true. i enjoy modem router next to 4 ports and adjectives pcs connected to it is gifted to catch full speed if the other pcs' nouns is unexploited. i own a 1mbit nouns and adjectives pcs' other get hold of full speed most of the times unless adjectives of them is using internet at one and the same time, so the speed will be distributed among them.
They will divide the nouns as required. Whichever apparatus requirements the most bandwidth will seize priority.
