How can I notify if a computer have DHCP enabled or is using a static ip?

I assume I can bounce it and see if the IP have changed... but I'd approaching to know how to put in the picture in need taking the device down.

Control Panel - Network Connections - Check for a Local Area Network Icon - double click on it - Scroll down the document near until you see TCP\IP - double click on it - Make sure "Obtain IP address automatically" is select. That manner it's getting server by a DHCP server.
