"AMD Athlon 64 X2" CPU or Pentium 4 2.8 for home base intranet?

Would the "AMD Athlon 64 X2" dual core processor be faster at directory serving than a P4 2.8GHZ CPU? I'm only just not sure when the 2nd processor would "see in" beside good opinion to database sharing/serving.

Does the server software affect speed as in good health, or does the software depend on the CPU speed?

I'll be using this server software: Abyss Web Server X1 (free reworked copy - see http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/... ).

Thanks for any well-versed answers! :)

Answers: Your software relationship is interesting.. never enjoy see that one past. BUT, it will work fine on any element.

If you want better production capture the AMD 64x2 it will roll adjectives over the P4. Even near directory sharing/serving. Even if the software doesn't use adjectives 64 bits. It will still run circles around the elder technology. The internal dual cores stale nouns automatically so yes it will be faster.

The largest point to remember is that you obligation plenty of RAM so gain more than you judge you will use! 2 Gig is ok 4 Gig is better. Whichever you budge next to more bump will increase acting out also.
