short conditions: We are currently between sysadmins, and my ultimate exchange cards admin experience is final within WinNT4 days, until that time ActiveDirectory.
we enjoy a framework domain controlled by helpful directory. On one user's laptop their "S" drive disappears at the bring to a close of respectively login.
I move about to her laptop, remap it, check the 'reconnect' and it adjectives works. the subsequent afternoon, I own to do it again.
i greatly suspect this have something to do next to an AD group policy or 'permissions'. I suspect this because of an unrelated issue where on earth a different user couldn't attain her software to keep trying settings between runs, and it's because that user be not privileged adequate to write to "Program Files".
Is it possible that shelter is so tight, you couldn't even write to the user portion of the registry, where on earth I assume web mappings are stored?
Does this nouns decipherable to anyone? Where might I look for these warranty settings? Where in the registry are map make friends drives stored?
Thanks.

There is no uncomplicated answer for this one. It could be permissions on the notebook if the user is not logging onto the domain. It could be an AD policy as in good health. If you hold admin rights I would suggest looking at the AD instance for that user and gain an impression of what their privileges are first. Then I would purloin a look at this URL:

is it logged in to a Domain? when you map the drive does it require a login an password? and if so you you check free password?
try this from the run strip replace the drive reminder, server designation, and folder or pathway next to yours
network use T: \\ServerName\bridleway password /USER:login /PERSISTENT:YES 2
