Here is what I am trying to do. In my house we enjoy 3 computers wirelessly connected to the internet through a d-link router. What I want to "try" to do is connect to another computer on make friends within ad-hoc mode so that I can verbs files directly to the other computer instead of transferring them through the router. Im guessing that mortal connected to the internet through the router and connected to another computer via wireless net card surrounded by ad-hoc mode may be impossible at like peas in a pod time but wouldn't I at lowest possible be capable of see the SSID of the wireless computer I am trying to connect to via ad-hoc mode?
Answers:
Doesn't work that mode. Sorry.
Nope, you can't do it approaching that.
If both PCs (where you're trying to verbs the files from and to in need going through your router) hold ethernet cards, you could hook them up directly to respectively other.
Laptops/notebooks are guaranteed practised to connect to respectively other within ad-hoc mode. By impossible to tell apart token, a desktop beside a wireless adapter should posess alike capabilities(unless it's some service that doesn't run automatically)
If you are trying to connect two desktops that enjoy wireless adapters installed, I can't guarantee it will work(although, try it anyway). Also, you enjoy beyond doubt NO benefit from bypassing the router. On the contrary, you DO requirement the encryption an infrastructure meet people supports.
If you are trying to connect two laptops via IBSS, consequently only move about into Control Panel> Network Connections > Network Setup wizard> etc.
