I hold set up a 2 PC lattice using a crossover ethernet cable. I enjoy an ADSL modem I enjoy followed the microsoft instructions at

However, despite the reality that the lattice is set up and working, the client computer cannot access the internet or email. Why? I'm going nuts. The host computer have no problem access the internet but it's not trying to access it over the make friends.

Get rid of the crossover cable, and install a hub/router.
I would agree beside getting rid of the cross over cable and get a router. However, it could still be a laptop setting. Have you tried hooking up the laptop not pulling page directly to your dsl modem and try the internet? If you do that and it works, its something to do next to the crossover and after bring rid of it. If it does not work still, its more possible a workstation issue.
Surely you are better rotten near a router but if you are determined to try it beside ICS the intermingle below have a ton of network articles including ICS setup beside screenshots for different version of Windows.
