Can MS DOS b installed in Win Xp?

my O/s is Windows Xp, idont hold MS DOS, presently can i download and install Ms Dos in Xp minus cause any problem. Cos MS DOS is also an operating system?

Answers: You can't install an operating system in an operating system. You can install an emulation of an operating system (eg. DOSBox). You can install virtualization tools which will virtually run the OS inside another OS (eg. Microsoft Virtual PC, VMWare). You can install an OS alongside another OS, and use a multi-boot setup. But it's ridiculous to install an OS inside another OS.

PS: Windows XP does not own DOS. It have a command smudge interface which a moment ago happen to be impressively similar to DOS. If anything it's closer to a DOS emulator, but it's not that any.
DOS is cut of XP. Click start>run consequently type cmd next hit enter. That will go and get you a DOS prompt.
The dos shell is available in All version of window by failure to pay.

Start > Run > CMD

S
You already own ms dos beside window xp. To run it, click on Start - Programs - Accessories - Command Prompt. This will transport you to the dos command prompt. (c:\>)... Type HELP and press enter to look at dos nouns. Type EXIT and press enter to close the dos glass. Search for delivery files using google to swot how to use dos delivery files. You can also hunt for dos tutorials and delivery report tutorials. Have fun!!

Run FreeDOS in a DOS-BOX ? Probably NO.
Either you use a DOS-Emulator (in XP), or you boot up a DOS
(FreeDOS). You cant hold both at same time.

Choice when booting ? YES, within are some possibilites.
But I didn't try this all the same. Note that FreeDOS does not support
NTFS (a plugin for this might be available), used by XP.

so whereas you could set up a dual booting system to boot any dos or xp. you might run into issues running both on alike divider because dos does do ntfs.
You already hold MS dos you simply don't know you own. Let me explain a bit. MS DOS is the proof of ALL operating systems and be the first O/S to be used, adjectives others after MS DOS own be built on the spring of this system. infact some of MS DOS is still used in XP as near be noi inevitability for MS to make over them. but others own be updated, So you already hold MS DOS. If you look undae Accessories/Command Prompt. This is your DOS prompt for XP and you can input nouns as you would within DOS.If however you yearning to run a program contained by dos you can use COMPATABILITY MODE.

Hope this have be some oblige.

P.S. If you still want to install DOS you will hold to clutch XP stale first afterwards install DOS later install xp spinal column on to your system.
MS DoS is already installed beneath WinXP... it is a stripped down sybsystem journal but it is here. Start > Run type cmd and hit enter and you will procure a comman prompt

Quote a few DOS nouns stillexist and you can port some over if you cannot locate the one you want. You can also use linux nouns tat own any be ported or can be used in a program similar to cygwin.

If you really want a full oldschool journal of MS DoS I would recommend installing vmware and a DOS symbol inwardly vmware.

apposite luck.
