If you are trying to use the Phone as your Internet nouns, you best bet is to connect it to your PC via Blue tooth or the USB cable. Your mover requirements to allow that type of service, because some of them lock it down. I know for Sprint and Cingular they charge a extra 2 dollars or so.
Nokia have a really nice suite of software that you should install that come near the phone, or can be downloaded from the net. You should use this to try to use the Phone as a modem.
Just peering a phone and a PC together though on Wifi will not do much. The Wifi in the phone is more intended for connecting the phone to local wireless Internet where on earth available, and using that to surf the trellis instead of paying your delivery service per kb for the service. For that, you could hop on any local wifi nouns your phone could find, whether it be your own or one's at hotels or restaurants. You would be surprised how various places you can connect to free Internet.
