Is near an alternative to CITRIX Metaframe to permit an application to be access remotely?

I own an Inventory Management System installed in the department and thru an experience, to know how to consent to the said application to be access remotely, I should hold Windows Server licensed plus a Terminal Server license too which is particularly expensive setup. Would within any other approach to avoid spending too much money? thank you in finance...

Answers: You could use TightVNC or Remote Desktop. Both of them are free. Remote Desktop is built into Windows.

Now, I wouldn't suggest using them in need them mortal wrapped surrounded by a Virtual Private Network (VPN) because they are inherently insecure. You could use something close to OpenVPN, another free product, to wrap them surrounded by a in safe hands tunnel between locations. Otherwise, you may stop up getting owned, as general public look for initiate Remote Desktop and TightVNC connections to see if they can go and get on.
