I've never really buried that problem. I enjoy a wireless Dlink in the organization set up for guest that come surrounded by and it also does like entity from time to time.
usually a complete power recycle of the router and modem will do the trick but i'm not bring down the companies internet for that. I've checked channel, log out filter, I changed encryptions.pretty much did adjectives the support offered also.
Not really sure. here be times where on earth I did the recycle and stood directly below the router (hangs on wall) and it would endow with.
I've never have this problem near linksys routers though but i'm sure it happen near them also.

does the signal drop or in recent times the internet connectivity? if pretty much "sit on the router" the signal is probably dutiful so try shifting the radio Channel contained by the router, it may own some interference on the current drain
Try shifting the pipe that your wireless router and computer are working on.
That solved a similar sounding problem I have that be totally baffling me.
There may be interference from another unsuspicious piece of equipment, even a neighbours.
Connect to the router wired and after log onto the Netgear framework homepage (it's contained by the manual).
The problem may be because of electromagnetic interference or that you own loads of virus on your computer.
I recommend calling Netgear logical support for give a hand

It does nouns similar to interference. As some own mentioned more rapidly, try varying the channel contained by the router settings (see documentation on how) and set collateral up (WEP). Also, try updating your wireless adapter drivers, as ably as your router's firmware (you'll predictable enjoy to be wired to the router to do this correctly--again, see documentation).
Also, if you're rather better beside computers than the average party, I would recommend looking into aftermarket firmware builds for your router. I own a Linksys WRT54G router, and in attendance are tons of firmware version for it that, for the mostpart, work better than the innovative Linksys firmware. They can engineer your router more powerful and reliable. But again, I wouldn't mess beside firmware too much if you're not confident contained by your systematic ability!! :)

It could also be the modem that you are using. I know that AT&T/ SBC be sending out speedstream modems that be set up to be DHCP instead of man a bridge nouns. If that's the travel case you can pick up a hot modem and be sure it is set up as a bridge.
Wireless conections arn't as great as they build out and im'e affraid your other going to enjoy this problem. Maybe you would be better past its sell-by date getting a wearing clothes modem instead. But later you might not want to do this check your nouns settings to build sure it's getting the right nouns but for you could other contact your isp to get hold of a better nouns to the router.
