I basically get a different wireless Toshiba laptop, and I want to print some things, however my printer is not a wireless printer, but supports network. My printer is connected to my router, and I would resembling to know how I can connect to the printer through the router. I tried putting in the IP Address of the printer but it didn't work. Also I am using Windows Vista.
Answers:
Add a untried printer, "local" through the TCPIP port. Enter the IPaddress of the printer and follow instructions on the eyeshade...for the type of printer and driver freshly use GENERIC and GENERIC TEXT ONLY
After that, try to ping the IPaddress of the printer to see if you can ping it. If you can, later you should be capable of print. If you cant, consequently I dont know what else to convey you.
Good Luck
Does your router enjoy a built-in print server? The just track to print from a wireless laptop is to own a server. The printer could be connected to a computer that's wired to your router and that would be a server but simply when it's in actual fact on and awake. Otherwise you'd obligation a print server. US Robotics have a router near a built-in print server, or you could go and get a wireless print server. Linksys make one and DLink make one and perchance some others do too. If your printer is a multi-function printer, later you'd want a multi-function print server. Otherwise it'll a moment ago be capable of bar the print function.
you might enjoy configured your router to conduct yourself as a dhcp server, which is assigning ip address to your laptop. simply construct sure that the ip address of your laptop and the printer is on indistinguishable net. it can be done if you disable the dhcp part on the router and manually assign ip address.
