Check that ALL your tcp/ip settings are configured automatically. If running ipconfig returns an IP address birth 169. you are not getting dhcp from the router. If this is wireless connect by cable and try again. If not try restarting the router. If this fail, reset the router to factory default and try again. You will consequently call for to re-configure the router. If resetting it does not work it may be a cable quirk, or even a imprecise router.
