Answers: If you buy a wireless router it can be used next to Dial-up, DSL, Cable, Satellite, or any other form of Internet nouns.

Let's cover what you obligation to seize Internet access to more than one computer at home, via wireless LAN (local nouns network).
The concept is impossible to tell apart for Wired networks. Add Cat5 cable and NICs, instead of wireless adapters to respectively computer.

1. You demand or use your existing Cable or DSL Internet access.

2. Your Cable or DSL company sets up your Internet access and typically any rents or sell you a Cable or DSL web bridge. They normally refer to this as a Cable or DSL “modem”. Actually a complete misnomer since the device does NOT modulate or demodulate, nor does it convert analog to digital or digital to analog.

Prices for Cable or DSL Internet access swing from approximately $19 per month to $80 per month within the United States. This vary base on bandwidth, location, and provider.

At this point you own what is commonly call “Broad Band” or “High Speed” Internet access.

Now you want to share that large speed nouns next to more than one system. You want to be capable of pushcart your laptop adjectives over the house and stay connected to the Internet as you do so.

1. Confirm that your system have a wireless adapter or gain one and install it. You obligation one of these for respectively computer. USB type are better. USB type that are 802.11n are best.

2. Get a wireless router. I recommend the D-Link DIR-655. Get D-Link n series USB wireless adapters if you acquire the D-Link wireless router. If you find a Linksys wireless router, attain Linksys wireless adapters. They work BETTER together if they are one and the same brand. This isn’t a requirement, merely a suggestion.

3. Plug the wireless router directly into the Cable or DSL grating bridge via an Ethernet cable.

4. Unplug the electrical cord from your Cable or DSL framework bridge for 30-45 second.

5. Plug the power cable hindmost surrounded by.

6. Check the Cable or DSL exchange cards bridge for green lights.

7. Make sure that the properties of TCP/IP are set to Obtain IP address automatically, and make a purchase of DNS automatically on ALL of your computers.

8. Turn on or reboot your system(s).

Now you should know how to stay connected to the Internet beside adjectives of your computers.

If you can not access the Internet from every computer:

Attempt to log within to your wireless router via your pattern browser (internet exploder or Firefox) by typing in http://192.168.1.1/
Then log in using admin and admin typically. Be sure to tweaking the password to something of your own choosing.
Enable DHCP by following the instructions in the encyclopaedia for your wireless router.

You lone entail one wireless router for you wireless LAN. One wireless router can accommodate up to 253 wireless computers. You can use combinations of wired and wireless routers together but typically one wireless router is sufficient for all your desires.

For wellbeing:

1. Don't announce the SSID of your wireless router.
2. Use WPA2 if you can. WPA-PSK except WPA2, or WEP at the massively most minuscule.
3. Put the MAC address of adjectives of your computers into the MAC routing table of your wireless router and ONLY ALLOW from the address contained by the table of the wireless router.
4. Turn the SPI firewall of the wireless router ON.
5. Filter anonymous or incomplete packet.

If this adjectives seem too complex and complicated to do, use local.yahoo.com to find a wireless net professional essential you.
omg

not dial up
no means of access ever
i don't even reason here is a router next to an RJ 11 jack

i estimate they are adjectives RJ 45's or anything

Dial Up will NOT be viable
Only next to dsl.
dsl with the sole purpose
why in the F**** are you even debating this. dial up is outmoded outdated, and is in truth one phased out.
if you even remotely have an idea that going on for using dial up consequently you DO NOT deserve to be on the internet.
they dont product routers for dial up it would be a dumming down effect. why do you want to lurk 3 mis or more to acquire a page on a current laptop. explore around your neighborhood im sure in that is some idiot that have wifi and no deposit if you dont want to spend the money. that said dsl and digital are nearly duplicate price and digital is 3-4 times faster. ive have both and dsl is newly hardly faster than dial up
This is if truth be told not an answer to your ask, but a defense of your request for information.

To those of you who wonder why dial up? Because it is $10 a month versus $50 a month, where on earth I live, and I can't afford $50 a month! Slow internet is better than no internet.
If you are paying $50 for DSL, you should check around. I own 7M DSL for $34.99
