Before I get my wireless router for my wifes notebook I have my desktop hooked to the internet similar to this-cabe into modem, ethernet cable into laptop, never have any trouble connecting to BF2. Now that I hold my wireless router I hold to try forever to connect to a sever so I can play. What could the problem be?

Your router doesn't map ports to your notebook. Enable DMZ and or NAT on your router and set your notebook IP address as DMZ Host.
