286 Kbps dsl for 50 US dollars per month??

I live in the country guyana and the fastest internet access we hold is dsl,but for home user service it is 286kbps and cost
the equivallent of 100 us per modem and 50 us per month is this a objective accord??and is at hand anyway i can win a better concordat from foreign Internet service providers eventhough i'm here??

Answers: It's not too fruitless of a operation... I checked their website, pricing looks to be more or less double the cost of service here surrounded by the US. $130.00 US total for modem rent and service- you might see if you can by a modem from an online retailer, that will cut out most of the cost ($15,640GD per month) and you'll one and only be paying $50 US! ($10,000GD)

I'm not sure if that's possible, but you might telephone and ask if you can use your own modem and what modems are preferred by their service.

I seriously doubt you can catch internet access from anyone else; it's not a unpromising concordat, considering at hand's no alternative.

Also, VoIP is even restricted and blocked by GT&T.

Good luck!
Well, 296 kb/s ain't doomed to failure at $50 a month, but is it a cumulative cost between the modem and the signal? If it is, afterwards you're better sour have them run a T1 row out to you or getting a satelite bunch.
I doubt it, since most government control the communication flash within an out of their Countries.
FYI: You can bring back DSL 256\128 for $20\mo, and Cable 768\256 for $17\mo, and Satellite 512\128 for $50

Just to dispense you an example, I'll notify you what I hold.
I hold a cable hookup (no phone required). It give me more or less 33,000 Kbps for downloads and it costs me going on for $24 a month. (Canadian, Toronto).
If I be you, I would do a comprehensive force out for a provider, progress as far as penetrating your Government's Internet provision, and latch, yes LATCH on to it.
I don't know the fussiness of them -thar dumb African government, but I know this much,
If they would acquire serious nearly helping their citizens as opposing oppress them, an ISP would not be a problem for you.
See if you can confound them next to (going through the stern door) proxy, or contact the ISP you presently hold and ask why he is still within the shadows ages.
