One static IP address: how to connect 2 PCs?

Ok, here's the article:

I hold one DSL cable near one static IP address assigned to it. It is not assigned to the MAC so it can be used on any PC.

The point I want to do is to hold access to the Internet next to two PCs using this one file.

As I know it you can't freshly split it next to a switch as it requires IP address for both PCs.

Is at hand any path to do this? Like using a router (I own hear in the order of it but don't know how it exactly works)

I prefer hardware solutions over software ones.

I prefer not to use a hub as I be told that it splits the speed of the nouns between the PCs and I want to own the queue speed for both PCs.

(P.S.: Don't administer me cr@p going on for how unlawful it is and I should repay for 2 lines, etc, etc. I know and I am ready to cart full responsibility. And even so... if it is so dishonest why do they trade components that can do this?)

10 points to who make me apprehend what to do exactly.

THANKS!

Answers: What your looking for is a router to supports a part certain as NAT - Network Address Translation. The router will use the "public" IP Address you obtain from the DSL provider. The router will also run something call DHCP so that your network PCs go and get their "private" IP address from it. Your private framework will use address resembling 192.168.0.x (where x will be a number from 1 to 254).

Your router can be any wired or wireless on the private side, or a combination of both. You can in truth put a few PCs/printers etc.. at the back a router. The other benefit to the router is that most provide a firewall, accumulation that extra level of financial guarantee.

It is not informal to do what your suggesting. Lots of culture do it, none of the cable or DSL providers attention. It's truly pressed because the Internet is running out of lawful IP address.
I don't feel doing the following is unjust, but the solution is to set up a web, so attain a router.

Once you receive the router, freshly follow the instructions bundled next to it (router specific, sorry), and set up the web. That is adjectives nearby is to do here.
Hi,
I would turn beside a router. The router act basically close to a computer. The Static IP is put on the router and your nouns should look something resembling this.
Cable Modem-------> Router --------> PC's
The router would be doing adjectives the nouns and it would be giving your computers a set of ip address as economically, so you don't enjoy to put the static ip on any of the computers. The computers should be set to "Obtain an IP address automatically".
Hope this help..
Cheers
there is nil wrong beside have more than one computer running. And yes the easiest opening to do this is beside hardware. Buy a router and assign the static ip address to that, after use DHCP on the computer side of the router. Or if you want you can assign static ip address to the machines also. Good Luck.
having a static ip from your isp is totally different later the ip address on your computers. There is zilch wrong near sharing your internet to more than one system using a router as probably the best selection but using a switch can work newly as suitable. Hook your dsl file into the router and the router will sharethe column to adjectives the computers hooked to the router simple as that. If you use a switch you will want to set a static ip address on respectively computer since you wont own a router to automatically mitt out ip address. This mode respectively computer have a different ip address so they don't conflict on the introduce yourself. These ip address don't hold anything to do beside your isp ipaddress these are internal ipaddresses in your own framework. hope it help some
There is nil unauthorized nearly using multiple machines. you necessitate a router which will connect to the flash and later allocate internal private ip address to them.
