Answers: We currently own 2 Pentium IV desktops and 4 Notebook PCs: Gateway (1) and DELL (currently 3). My nouns is 15" DELL Notebooks bec our one larger 17" DELL Latitude D800 is fairly creamy and you might feel/notice the difference over time. Pricewise you should be capable of find a obedient one at the DELL OUTLET site between $500 and $1000 plus taxes and S&H.

Lessons Learned: (1) MEMORY at a minimum you want is 512MB and 1GB is better and 2GB even nicer. I salaried over $1000 for my 1st Gateway Pentium IV Notebook and for the longest tiime be mournful bec I never realize 256MB be motivation why so slow on internet. Luckily I found the compatible 256MB to upgrade. (2) Size of BATTERY can be push button esp when taking to oration classes etc or surrounded by bookstore/library. (3) Wireless WiFi Internal Card is total must (4) Get the biggest Hard Disk you can afford and don't settle for anything smaller than 60GB. (4) CPU if buying exotic Intel Duo Core should be hurriedly plenty but if buying used, consequently I would recommend Penitum M Centrino as your minimum and never rubbish your minety on Pentium III no situation how cheap bec you will be disappointed buying something worthless that might make a contribution you trouble trying to unload.

I could verbs feed more tips but the above should guide you to distinguishing Choice A vs Choice B. Any further question, don't hestitate to ask and Best of Luck!
Dual core processor
2 Gig of RAM minimum
CD/DVD writers are angelic.

Don't rate them for Antivirus and antispyware. There are tons hugely well-mannered free ones.
if short, skimp a bit on processor speed, and spend the money on memory (first) and disk space (second).

get hold of at lowest 1GB memory, and try to bring 60GB firm disk (easy surrounded by a desktop these days).

Dual core processors (eg Centrino Duo) are worth the stab if you can stretch to it

cheaper manufacturer market machines that underperform their spec. Nowadays I approaching Lenovo for laptops. We still buy Dell for desktops. Acer is annoying; Hitatchi laptops aren't as appropriate as they should be.

Suggest looking knotty at www.cnet.com in the past committing.

If you want to acquire a computer, find one beside:

Dual Core Processor
1gb RAM (minimal)
80gb Hard Drive, more if you plan on putting multimedia on it (music, etc)
CD/DVD Writer
Preferably buy a computer beside a graphics card and nouns card

If you want to buy a made computer, buy Dell; Lenovo for laptop. Viao is also sometimes a correct substitute, but it have abundantly of crapware that comes beside the computer, so you may want to do some cleaning in the past you start using the computer.
buy window xp computer flawless for you
