I hold downloaded it, get athe registration switch...registered...primarily i hold the program, and can use it...
so I ask...how do I use it to snuff out a virus trhat's already contained by my computer? I run a scan, and it never done...but no more files be mortal scan...after the scan how do i delete the files that it found infected? I own no theory how to really use Avast...and I want to know how...(I do know how to run a scanthough)
also, if i try to stop the scan, my cursor turns into an hourglass and never change back(when avast is open)...it doesn't certainly stop the scan any...

Use some other anti virus program. Norton, AVG are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at

Did you completely un-install any other anti-virus programs from your computer earlier you installed Avast? It is requisite.
Sounds similar to you own a conflict.
Avast should ask you when it finds something what you want to do beside the detected malware.
