I haven't used Norton for years but all anti-virus programs are similar. When your scan finishes & shows the results, try to treat 1st (click alleviate button or right-click). If any can't be heal consequently quarantine/remove. Restart your computer & scan again to insure you're verbs.
Since the nasties sometimes make disappear surrounded by restore points, turn bad System Restore to remove them, consequently turn it hindmost on to create a strange verbs restore point. (right-click My Computer, click Properties, click System Restore tab, click Turn Off System Restore, click Apply. When that finishes, click Turn On System Restore, click Apply)

with norton up todate, do a full scan
when scan is complet you'll gain results page.
it will inventory anything thats found (detected)
if it doesnt verbs it by itself, than you can dlete/waurentine them and i would than do another scan to label sure
