I be over my aunt's house and my psp picked up a signal from her router. I couldn't connect to the internet because she I didn't know her network switch and I didn't want to ask her for it. Anyway, I also hold the internet at home, but my PSP won't pick up a signal here. My aunt have SBC Yahoo!! DSL, and I enjoy comcast. Is it something that comcast is doing? Or do I want to buy a different router that's compatible beside my PSP? I read a cross-examine that be similar to the one that I'm asking very soon, and somebody answered at hand interview by describing them to name comcast and ask them to spark off something. What does that be a sign of? What do they own to initiate? Is it going to be an extramural excise if they elicit "it"? Can the empire who work for comcast report me my trellis switch, or is it that they can't update me and I enjoy to find it out on my own? I do believe that I might have need of to know the net push button only just similar to I needed to know it at my aunt's house. Thanks!!
Answers:
check to see if your router is broadcasting the ssid.
on the computer hooked to the router, click the start menu and type cmd (or click programs, afterwards accoutrements and chose Command Prompt)
when the glass open up, type contained by ipconfig /all (space between fig and all)
this will show you your ip settings.
scroll down and find the stripe that say DNS SERVERS.
within may be two or three sets of numbers that start near 192.168...
so lift the first set (more consequently feasible 192.168.2.1) and accessible the internet browser on the computer and enter the number into the address stick.
this will cart you to the routers set up page.
because every wireless router is different, i cant update you exactly where on earth to look, but you obligation to find a relationship that say WIRELESS or SSID.. or something close to that.. click it and check to net sure the ssid is broadcasting.
while you are in the set up page, put together sure these things are turned on
DHCP
NAT
Broadcast SSID
Also, the psp just supports 802.11 ***B*** so variety sure the router is broadcasting in B (most routers will dispense you an picking of 802.11N, 802.11G, 802.11 B, or adjectives of them combined)
Everything i previously planned WILL be found surrounded by the routers set up page. (there is no guess, it WILL be there. if you cant find it, preserve looking.. the solitary entry that may change, is the frequency at which the router outputs (802.11b)
near is no payment to use the psps browser.
As long as your router supports 802.11b, afterwards its compatible.
the with the sole purpose drive you would involve to call for your isp is if you own a dynamic ip address (99% of home base internet connections do not use this)
not a soul but you will own your routers WEP knob.
psp can't touch wireless routers that enjoy collateral key. you must turn them bad.
psp internet is overrated. though easier to cast a shadow on browsing for porn :D
