i uninstalled macafee afterwards installed avg coz my macafee be outdated and later i come across avg. they said avg reliable and free so i installed avg. after unistalling macafee, my firewall be switched sour. after i go to financial guarantee center tried to switch on it said due to anonymous problem it cannot be switched on. presently i don enjoy a firewall. is it bcoz i installed avg or is it a virus that have disabled firewall? also i am typing this interview juz after i hold done this process. is it bcoz i hold not restarted my com all the same? plz give a hand!

I believe your problem stems from an incomplete uninstall of McAfee. If you are using Windows XP or Vista, the built in Windows firewall will automatically turn itself rotten if it detects the presence of another firewall. As a rule, individual one firewall can be live. After you uninstalled McAfee, some trace files and registry key be departed trailing. As a result, Windows think that the McAfee firewall is still installed and will beg to be excused to turn on because of it. Was your firewall sector of a Macaffee suite? Or are you speaking of another firewall, such as Zone Alarm or Windows Defender? If you have Macaffee suite installed and uninstalled it, specifically the problem. You have need of to reinstall it and newly disable the anti-virus portion of it. Well, you might hold conflicting firewalls. Your McAffee firewall might still be floating around in your computer's knotty drive, and the AVG firewall might be conflicting beside the McAffee firewall. Try restarting your system. Most guarantee suites will not find rid of adjectives of the running files when you uninstall until you restart. After you restart try turning on the Windows firewall again. If it comes up you are fitting. You may also want to try Zone Alarm, massively dutiful fire wall and works powerfully next to AVG.
