I've be using the free variation of AVG for over 7 years and it is wonderful.
Ad-aware isn't anti virus, it's anti spyware. I prefer Spybot Search and Destroy from http://www.spybot.info.
Mcafee is only a free trial and it is a strain within the **** once you own it.
AVG is fine. I dumped Norton and in a minute use that. Stick to AVG.

AVG, Ad-Aware and other programs are free. McAfee isn't. It's merely a trial. AVG used to be a biddable program, but very soon in attendance are various citizens complaining of it, so you should choose a different one. Avast and AntiVir are worthy choices and completely free.
