Not really. Windows Defender hasn't have raving reviews. Personally I much prefer SuperAntispyware along near my Spybot S&D and run a full scan beside it.
And you are correct, SpywareBlaster is a blocking tool and not a malware removal program. Works great. I use it as powerfully.
You may want to look at running your Avast at lowest possible once a week though. While within is some overlap between Antivirus and Antispyware products, both *use different technique to look for and identify malware.
No you don't stipulation window protector its a incredibly poor program, Spywareblaster works better, however try this association, it give more real-time protection that spywareblaster & it will speed up your PC.
