Virus\Trojan\Adware Problem\Question?

Ok, just this minute, a virus have somehow be installed into my computer. I own McAfee and I run a virus scan atleast twice a time very soon since brand new "cookie" files that are Potentially Unwanted preserve showing up. They are adjectives removed, but theres one report that say it cannot be completely removed. This record is call "WinFixer." It shows up on every scan, and will never be fully removed on every scan. So I obligation to know if anyone can relief me carry this pesky virus out of my computer. Also, adjectives these Pop-Up ad keep hold of coming up when I'm on the internet. And lastyl, I just this minute only downloaded Mozilla Firefox within an attempt to stop adjectives these ad from coming up, but even when I'm on Firefox, ad come up, but near Internet Explorer as the browser. So, if anyone know how to completely take rid of these ad, that would also give a hand a ton. I be thinking possibly somehow disabling Internet Explorer, but I don't know how to do that, nor do I know if it will stop them.

Answers: * Now, you'd want to hold the best anti spyware to fix this problem. I know that an anti spyware program call True Sword have a special writing for delete winfixer hurtful program, so download it and scan your laptop: http://www.securitystronghold.com/true_s...
* By the bearing, Kaspersky can not sole adjectives spyware problems, because that's an anti-virus.
Good Luck!

P.S.: Use
- Kaspersky: http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner...
- True Sword: http://www.securitystronghold.com/true_s...
- Agnitum Outpost Firewall: www.agnitum.com
to protect your workstation and Mozilla Firefox, because Cris is right - IE is the open revenue for nasty programs.

P.P.S.: Kaspersky and True Sword can work near Mozilla Firefox. As a issue of reality, these programs can work beside Opera too.
One of the first things to do when you suspect malware is DISABLE System Restore.
If enabled, this allows malware to cast a shadow on within the computer and re-install itself.
So, to disable it, RIGHT-click on "My Computer." Select "Properties" later below the 'System Restore' tab, check 'disable system restore' IF not already checked.
The subsequent most accommodating things that would minister to you are to use ONLINE scanners from websites to remove any malware on your PC.
The current best online scanners I prefer are from Kaspersky antivirus and Bitdefender antivirus. Together, these 2 scanners will find ALL the bleak stuff on your PC because they hold the BEST detection rate.
First, use Kaspersky's. (FYI: ALL these scan require you to agree to a EULA and install an activex control which is needed to get something done the scan, so agree to them adjectives.)

*NOTE: Some scanners ONLY work next to IE or may not fully remove malware

http://usa.kaspersky.com/products_servic... (KAV)

Then scan beside:
http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html...

There are MANY other devout online scanners which you may choose to also use (which will run longer but ensure safety):

http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/defau... (Windows Live Onecare)

http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/ax/. (A-squared scanner)

http://www.ewido.net/en/onlinescan/... (ewido)

http://www.ca.com/us/securityadvisor/pes... (Spyware scan)

http://www.ca.com/us/securityadvisor/vir... (Virus scan)

http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/s... (Panda Antivirus)

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/... (TrendMicro)

http://www.eset.com/threat-center/cac.ph... (Nod32 AV scan)

http://support.f-secure.com/enu/home/ols... (F-secure AV scan)

After using these, it's ESSENTIAL to install at tiniest 3 antispywares. Do NOT use more than 1 antiVIRUS as they conflict.

The best things in energy are FREE, and great free software can be found @:

Superantispyware.com (Superantispyware FREE version)
lavasoft.com (Ad-aware)
emsisoft.com (A-squared FREE)

zonealarm.com (Top Notch Firewall)
comodo.com (Another Top Notch firewall)
iobit.com (Advanced Windows Care)
Eusing.com (Safe Registry cleaner)
ccleaner.com (Junk folder cleaner)

Now if you can afford it, the best software to BUY are:

Spy Sweeper
Security Task Manager

Nod32 AV
Kaspersky AV (BEST! =D )
Bitdefender AV
Sophos AV
F-secure (Same as Kaspersky)
Linkscanner (Blocks exploits in legitimate time)
Advanced Uninstaller

*One other entry to consider is using another browser besides Internet Explorer. IE have greatly of financial guarantee holes,
making it smaller amount not detrimental than other browsers. I prefer Firefox from mozilla.org.
It's freshly as uncomplicated to use and have profusely of trim little add-ons you can toy around beside. By itself, it is also safer from exploits than IE.*

As other, things will change for you but I can assure you these things will facilitate more than profusely.
Some things you can use together and others you can't. Some you will find harder to use or more 'pretty.'
Some may in recent times not work for you and may be unfixable here on SafeFeel.com. I'm in recent times here to lend a hand and hope the
best for everybody. As other, others may disagree but in attendance's solely one method to find things out---try it! As long
as you other hold an UPDATED AV, AS, & firewall, things will run ok. Oh! And use your skipper when browsing the web.
Hope I be competent to back and fix anything needed. If I enjoy, please consider returning & departing a nice comment and
"Best Answer" to whomever you think deserves it...
Chris ;)

Try downloading and installing Avast! 4 Home which is a free virus scanner and particularly perfect! Available from http://www.avast.com/. For the popups try downloading and installing the free Lavasoft Ad-aware 2007 program and run it weekly! Available from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
Try running McAfee again in Safe Mode. It may know how to delete the report at hand.

Also, I suggest you download Ad-Aware SE and Spybot S&D (they’re free), install them, update them and run them. If they don't appear to know how to gain rid of everything they report finding, try running them again, this time in Safe Mode. Safe Mode prevents frequent instances of malware from loading and protecting itself against deletion of its files.

Also, turn past its sell-by date System Restore to evict any copies of bleak stuff that might be lurking nearby.

To carry into Safe Mode:

1. Log out and reboot your mechanism.
2. When the contraption starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key
3. Select Safe Mode from the resulting menu.
4. The mechanism will verbs booting, but the Windows desktop will look different. You won't be capable of see the Internet, for instance. You may own to log contained by as Administrator to delete the fruitless files.
5. When you're finished, log out and reboot fund into average mode.

Update and run both regularly, along beside a appropriate anti-virus collection.

Good luck.

Visit a forum-style site such as AumHa Forums, Spyware Warrior, Castle Cops, etc. that specializes surrounded by helping relations get hold of adware and spyware past its sell-by date of their computers. Sites close to these are FREE and volunteer-staffed, so it may thieve for a time time back someone get to your examine, but these folks know what they're doing and they WILL know how to sustain.

Before you post - follow any "preliminary" cleaning instructions the site recommend.
