Hi, its be a while since used xp and msn messenger but as I remember if you start on up messenger, next turn to the menu slab at the top, dance to "tools" I ruminate next "options", if its not beneath tools check the others "file", "edit" etc, and below the standard tab uncheck the box where on earth it say aloud spread out messenger at startup or start messenger (something similar as I said it be a while ago since using xp). If its not below the standard tab it will be somewhere within the option so a moment ago shift through respectively tab.

Assuming you use Windows XP and it's installed to your first knotty drive (usually C) here go.
Open My Computer
Open the C drive (or your leading thorny drive)
Open Program Files
Scroll down to where on earth you see the folder name 'Messenger'
Right Click it and choose 'RENAME'
Name it doesn`t matter what you want, I use 'Messenger OFF'
Enjoy, you'll never see it again!

Open the program, clear the option and you'll find a checkbox to disable the popup beneath the standard settings tab.

Their is a program that will remove MSN messenger completely rotten your PC, I own a copy lurking something like and you can simply flush for a tool yourself, so look into for it.
