Symantec Anti-Virus Won't Scan?

Hello, I own a institution computer near Symantec AntiVirus which my academy's administrator controls.

Just just this minute, anything that I try to scan doesn't scan.

For example, when I click start Custom or Full scan, or scan a particluar database, it say scan for something like 2 second after say completed. But, when you look at the bottom of the blind it say "Scanned files: 0". And next it purely doesn't scan.

Please lend a hand! As I currently own no protection against virus!
Im not sure if this will relief, but on the foremost Symantec AntiVirus Menu it Says: "Scan Engine: " But it doesn't come across to own a scan engine, if that's the problem, how do I fix it?

Thanks!

Answers: I'm using Norton ( from Symantec ) too. It works..I can scan.

You should probably contact Symantec for systematic help out, or not a short time ago make clear to them to exchange another disk OR a settlement and receive a better AV similar to NOD32, Kaspersky or Bitdefender ( though Bitdefender bites your resources HARD ).

Firstly I request you to remove Symantec because thats the worst anti spyware you can enjoy, download AVG antivirus from www.download.com and consequently update it near the up-to-the-minute protections and scan! Hurrah!
Why don't you contact your college administrator? You know Symantec is deeply best suited for networks and your institution admin. can enable/disable its scan option effortlessly. It might be that he is controlling your files' scan remotely himself.
You should enjoy administrative rights to scan your college computer. You will own to ask the system administrator to do it for you.
