for this foundation,i suggest the deletion weekly of those space hogs

what happen is,when you budge to a website,your workstation looks into your pre-fetch file/folder
to see if that website is "cached",stored within FIRST
this give you a faster website nouns,BUT,you return with the "cached" copy and NOT the NEWEST version
unless you enjoy "check for up-to-the-minute version" checked within internet options
it may bring that website 1/2 a second longer to load
but,you'll catch the up-to-the-minute altered copy loading respectively time

spybot is apt try spyware terminator it works in material time and auto updates and will run a scan automaticly plus have a nice piece that does what ccleaner does norton is a resourse hog try using avast
SpywareBlaster is with the sole purpose a blocking tool and not a spyware removal application. You can try using SuperAntispyware. It is a pious application.

Try removing the malware in Safe Mode. You can other delete the program afterwards should you choose.
As for too heaps antispyware applications, if they are actively running (real time protection) it could slow your computer down, especially since you already are using a resource intensive program (Norton). You may even capture error messages if you haven't sufficient RAM.
That's too heaps programs, normally times spyware programs will not verbs 100% of the spyware on a notebook.
