If you're using XP you can right-click on a folder and set it to private which method that solely your story can access the folder.
Other version of window close to 2000 2003 the prtection get more granular.
You could also purchase a program such as PGP (pretty apt privacy) which amongst masses other kewl features would allow you to encrypt the folder or you could encrypt an entire drive, or as of reworked copy 9 the product comes next to WDE (whole disk encryption) which is an excellent opportunity for laptop owners.
There are other programs out nearby but I solitary recommend those that I use.
