There are several things you will want to configure to freeze a pattern server:
1. turn bad any unused services.
2. tweak your firewall to ensure nearby are no unnecessary clear ports.
3. ensure permissions on your pattern files are not world readable.
4. disable any guest side.
5. ensure your passwords are complex.
6. ensure Apache is configured next to the most safe and sound settings.
7. install an intrusion detection system.
8. if you are truly wanting to fully become inflexible your server, use SELinux or AppArmor. These are complex but tentative tools are coming out every light of day to net configuring them easier.
I'd suggest running Bastille for Linux. This is a calligraphy that will relieve you solidify your installation. You may also want to run some cracking software against your installation to see how capably you enjoy locked it down.
