Looking for a suitable reliable free anti-virus/system protection. Also should I single hold one or should I run a couple side by side to police respectively other so to speak? Thanks.

AVG Anti-Virus is crap!
Mostly noobs, the susceptible, the computer illiterate, and children use AVG Free. People of their ilk love AVG because they influence it is flowing to use and almost never bothers them near any pop-ups or warning. Of course AVG Free never bothers them, it scarcely ever finds any virus to alert them roughly speaking!

AVG have proven itself to be a miserable musician at best. Missing almost 20%, while trying to detect specified malware, within some test. Not to mention almost non-existent heuristic detection and infrequent "once-a day" updates.
AVG. = Average, at best!

I use AVG anti-virus and am content near it. There are others. It is recommended to not run two AV programs at equal time. You can other suppliment your installed program beside an on-line scan (pandasoft and others).

AVG is fitting. Instead of running an anti virus along beside it, I run a program after ward call Spybot look into and verbs, it will sometimes pick up stuff AVG missed. So I run AVG first, consequently around once a week run spybot hunt and verbs. Hope that help. gratefulness. Good luck!
