Every hours of daylight I seize a word that my AVG is old-fashioned. Sometimes, resembling today, I check for updates and I'm told my software is up to date and no updates are availble. Yet the little multicolored square on my toolbar have turned to a black/gray square, gist I necessitate to update.
What is the problem? What is the fix?

There are abundant problems within AVG anti virus, I used to enjoy the professional edition, near firewall too.

AVG is crap!
Mostly noobs, the optimistic, the computer illiterate, and children use AVG Free. These types love AVG because they say aloud it is trouble-free to use and almost never bothers them beside any pop-ups or warning. Of course AVG Free never bothers them, it scarcely ever finds any virus to alert them roughly!

AVG have proven itself to be a miserable actor at best. Missing almost 20%, while trying to detect set malware, surrounded by some test. Not to mention almost non-existent heuristic detection and infrequent "once-a day" updates.
AVG. = Average, at best!
