I don't know if it's THE best - but I switched almost 2 years ago (after suffering a impossible infection of adware) to Webroot's program "Spy Sweeper". The cost is acceptable, and it works particularly capably. I enjoy not have any further problems since installing it. Highly recommend it. It is rate notably by PC Magazine, among others.
the biggest threat to an internet junky resembling me be the spywares. the virus does MAJOR violate, but they aren't as frequent, nor much of an crushing threat as spyware. so for virus protection i get "CA Internet Security" it be one of those subscription virus protection programs offered by my window xp. it last for one year and get updated once every 4 days and doesn't really slow the computer down much. immediately when it comes to spyware protection, i go for the best because i ALWAYS return with snagged next to spyware/adware/spam+spyware. to me, the best article out here is spyware doctor. the downside is that for a dutiful 8 minutes of respectively computer start, the computer slows down pretty a bit, it is unmistakable. but i own 2gb's of hit so i can do little stuffs while i.e. going on. but cause no mistake, near spyware doctor, your computer will no longer be an instant access because of this drop in computing speed in the begining. but MAN is it worth it. i've tried those free spyware programs out in attendance and they don't do as angelic of a mission as spyware doctor.
