How do you trace a source of emails?

Is it possible to trace the computer an email is sent from. Is it tracked to the computer or some other source resembling the location it be sent from?


Answers: you can achieve the IP Address from the SMTP headers, from that you can grasp the net that ows it. If its a company, it can be traced to a physical address, if its an ISP or hotspot next adjectives your going to acquire is the location of the ISP or hotspot
You can look at the headers and see the IP address, but that won't relate you the location largely. It may enjoy some short way around for the city, ie
1.2.3.4 (stlouis.mo.aol.com) or something.

Yes, you can find the origination of the email... to see this you want to turn on header and footer information (contact which ever website or program you use to collect your messages), which as a rule is located surrounded by advanced option.

Header and Footer information is information sent along side of the email, and includes the IP address of the sender.
