If i get another internet provider, why is my connections truism powered by the elderly provider?

I go near an internet provider out the green sheet and downloaded their software onto my computer. I very soon hold a tentative provider, but when logging on to the internet it say powered by the elderly provider. I thought I erased adjectives traces of the old-fashioned provider, but it's still coming up even after downloading the topical providers software. How can I bring back rid of the mature provider indefinitely?
