Can Linux go and get virii, malware, or be hack?

Yes, yes, and yes.
However, it is more possible you will carry adjectives of the above beside Windows than Linux, especially if you set it up properly (user acocunts, put to death unnecessary services, etc.).
Windows virus won't run contained by Linux (unless you run them in a virtual Windows environment inside Linux - I know a guy that did, basically to see what would appear and it hosed his machine). There are different threats that are more serious beside Linux than virus, but Linux is much harder for an outsider to gain access to - again, if properly set up.

There are plenty of ways to hack linux...
any system specifically not properly secured near antivirus, firewall, and updated beside the hottest operating system patch (and patch for any programs used on the system) are adjectives to hackers and virus... malware IS in recent times another word for a virus... the word encompass adjectives types of "doomed to failure code" (viruses, trojans, etc)

Yes. Linux CAN be hack. Malware CAN be created beside intentions to harm Linux systems. The probability of that scheduled compared to a PC running Windows is abundantly lower.
