There is no provision contained by Windows itself to password protect individual folders.
The correct and most out of harm`s way passageway to protect your sensitive files is to password protect your entire Windows statement, allowing not a soul else access to it. Just turn to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Change an details. After you set-up a password after choose to build your folders private.
Now,if you must consent to anyone else use your PERSONAL computer (not recommended), you should set up a Guest Account for them beside fixed privledges. Go to Start > Control Panel > User accounts > pick an account to transmutation > Guest. Not with the sole purpose will a Guest Account keep your notes undisruptive from prying eyes, your computer will also be more protected as the constrained privledge Guest tale will not allow the inadvertant installation of any malware by others.
Good luck.
