If you are working on Windows Opearting System, I would recommend you to stir near Windows Live One thought.
Beacause, the compatibility and support will be more if both OS and doesn`t matter what software you're installing in your computer. Windows Live One Care know going on for Windows OS better than AVG.

For Genuine XP beside service pack 2, onecare work approaching a charm. You can install up to 3 license for one product switch too, reasonably! I own one and it's working great.
1 - WLOC is trash. If you want MS to track your every move, after GO, GO! Go catch it.
2 - AVG is NOT that devout as it have be proven to report false positives.
Best guidance? Avast, Bit Defender.

AVG Anti-Virus is crap!
Mostly noobs, the easy to fool, the computer illiterate, and children use AVG Free. These types love AVG because they vote it is comfortable to use and almost never bothers them near any pop-ups or warning. Of course AVG Free never bothers them, it only just ever finds any virus to tip off them in the region of!

AVG have proven itself to be a miserable instrumentalist at best. Missing almost 20%, while trying to detect particular malware, contained by some test. Not to mention almost non-existent heuristic detection and infrequent "once-a day" updates.
