There are plentiful ways to solve this problem, though none of them are reliable.
1.) Password protect the document - The report can be password protected inside word as described by the first poster. The problem is that near are multiple tools found for free on the internet that can strip the password from the record (the password protection isn't drastically strong. The single means of access I know of to do specifically to password protect the document. It is not a timed procedure and must be done manually, but nobody can modify it after you close it.
Click File > Save As > Tools > Security Options > enter password to modify.
Simple method. Right click on the Desktop and choose new>> Compressed Zipped Folder.>> Give It a Name. Now drag all the word documents that you want to the folder. after that on the directory menu click Click supply a password. Make sure that any other of the profile is delete and that the one and only copy is within the compressed folder. This is because if someone is within word they can click on the database and hold it open from a location that is to say not protected. Also after you set the password it one and only protects the folder to be precise already surrounded by the folder. So every time you put a profile within it adjust the password.
