Why do I attain popups when I'm not even online? And how do I stop this from going on?

I go the computer on adjectives darkness and surrounded by the morning I hold over 30 popups on the peak even though the internet wasn't up on the peak. Why is this taking place adjectives of a sudden?

As the above posters suggested, use Spyboy Search and Destroy and Adaware to check for spyware and adware, and may I also suggest disabling the messenger service in Windows? I have matching problem a while stern, and disabling that service will stop the popups from showing up if they're self cause by that service. It have nil to do near MSN or YIM, and can be disabled without risk if you're on a home framework and aren't using it.
To do this, you'd travel into the control panel, select Administrative tools, shift into Services, and scroll down the chronicle until you see Messenger.
