when I hit alt ctrl delete the odds to lock the computer is grayed out. and no control panal but I enjoy command prompt.

will lock the compter
Xp have it already,
2k doesn't so you will own to find shutdown and copy it to system32 dir lower than window..
I don't know of any approach to use the command promt but enjoy another channel for you to try.
Try holding down the flying Windows switch at alike time you type the reminder 'L'. This will also invoke the LOCK function. You will involve to know the Windows logon password to know how to unlock this.
