I currently enjoy the crappy window vista program (came near the alien computer). It is impressively sluggish and closely of the times, I bring back I.E. is not responding, looking to explanation...No pretext is ever given. I hold delete adjectives temp files, add-ons (resinstalled some) and enjoy done everything I could infer of to brand name the computer run faster (while not on the internet). I finially contacted HP (other problems) and they told me I needed another 1GB of RAM for window to run properly. I currently enjoy 1 GB on it.
Does anyone know what else I can do to speed it up and run right or do I really have need of the EXTRA GB for this to come to pass?
Answers: I have problems beside Vista.. It should run fine beside 1 see. Ok, speedy guide.
1. Your anti-virus is up-to date? I'm using avira antivir, and ad-aware personal.
2. Download "Process Explorer" on Microsoft's webpage and narrate it to replace "Task Manager". (Task Manager tend to do freeze-like slowdowns)
3. Use Mozilla Firefox. Get the Adblock Plus part. You can relate Firefox to use Google to verify hurtful websites.
4. If you own an UPS, or, don't charge in the order of your facts: Device principal --> set adjectives drives caching to "optimize for performance"
5. Readyboost might give support to.
The rest of my tips are risky, you might try checking on the network what they do.
3. Turn stale indexing, remote differential compression, and system restore, Aero, Visual effects
4. Remove unwanted items that start-up beside the PC. IM's, QuickTime, cast-offs installed by the PC entrepreneur, etc. You can also use msconfig, but be sure not to remove your anti-virus!
5. If your PC still lags, invoke Process Explorer and view which process (except System Idle) is ingestion your CPU. You can even go and get the way to the folder and executable.
6. If you enjoy an nVidia or Ati video card, receive drivers from their webpage. They are updated almost monthly.
Try turning stale adjectives the visualizations if you haven't already. Otherwise, I'd suggest installing XP instead, as it will create much better use of that 1 GB of push you already hold.
