I hold Quicken 2006 on my laptop (which runs Windows XP) and I am experiencing some problems. If I reinstall the program (without removing it first), will that erase al information and files?

reinstall? you can't do that. you own to uninstall, consequently install
the files will still be here. your records/books will still be intact
