Using a PC to dial a phone?

I enjoy the core set-up of a Desktop (XP) and a phone contained by my department. What I'd similar to to carry out is clicking a phone number in word, access, excel, and so on and have the PC convey a message to my phone to dial that number. Is this a possibility? I'm festive to use the phone handset/headset, and I'm not interested in Skype (company call upon box, you see).

Answers: Kat is going in the right direction but the question is: What genus of mobile switch (network) is the phone plugged into? If you are on a digital switch the solution is exceedingly different from an analog switch.
Well, it depends on the programing in your phone. - I significantly doubt it though. However, it's a cool perception.

What phone do you enjoy? Does it own blue tooth know-how? Is it programable?
hook your phone into your modem. expand your doccument. copy the # you want to dial. step to start/run/dialer.exe hit the dial button and blend the # into the white box and hit phone telephone call button. after hit place call upon. thats the one and only road i can see you doing that from your computer next to out a software that scan your docs for the 7 digit # and linking it to your modem. recomend you have dialer.exe auto start and minimized so its within waiting for you adjectives the time.
