Burning and compressing for Mac?

I with the sole purpose use cd-rw's to salvage the movies that I've downloaded from the internet. Each movie is as big as 700 mb and sometimes bigger so it take me two cd's to squirrel away the 2 parts of the movie which I estimate is nice of a spend. I also tried to retrieve some songs into a cd but single around 15 songs fit contained by and I lone own a few cd's disappeared. My mac can burn typically but it's not the type that can compress files. Is near any application that can burn or compress files close to that? I've singular see the DVD shrink… something close to that and Roxio Toast, but I ruminate it's solitary for DVD ripping and burning.

Answers: Two different issues: 1) To procure any appreciable compression on the video files, you must sacrifice any ability (fps, optical "sharpness", artifacts, etc.) or resolution (frame size, essentially). If that is to say an adequate trade-off, after you can use QuickTime Pro from Apple (about $30 if memory serves) to do the commission. 2) If you want to play your CDs contained by a standard player, after yes, 15 songs is more-or-less the maximum. That's because standard disc players expect a standard, non-compressed format. No instrument around that. If you hold a player that will play MP3-formatted song files on a disc (and lots players do nowadays), consequently you're looking at more approaching 150 songs per compact disc. You can use iTunes from Apple to do the conversion (and even burn the CD).
